Off-leash Heel

When you take your dog with you on the slopes, you'll need to train them to obey basic commands. The first one is "heel." The dog should be able to follow your eyes and stay by your side as you go down the slopes. If your dog does get a little excited and decides to wander off, you can always correct them by calling them back to sit. In addition, the dog should wait for you to stop and call them back to you.

Dogs should not be allowed to run free. You should make sure to keep a leash on them and control their movement while on the slopes. Your dog should also be heeled while going uphill. Don't let them run loose, either. You can even get a snowboarding session for dogs with special lessons, and keep your pup in sight.

Proper Obedience

The first step to snowboarding with a dog is to teach your dog proper obedience. Your dog should sit and heel next to you and follow your eyes. If he tries to run away or jump in the air, correct him and call him back to the sitting position. In addition, your dog should always wait for your call or stop. Even if you're skiing in the snow, he should stay beside you and wait until you stop skiing.

Training your dog can help prevent him from wearing out you when snowboarding. It's especially important to keep your dog on a leash while you skin. This will prevent him from running into ski poles or other skiers. It will also ensure he doesn't poop on the snow, which will stick to your skis.

Once your dog has learned the proper commands, it's time to introduce him to a variety of different environments.
